Rigid Adapt 40" Light Bar

After a several delayed release dates, I finally received and got this thing installed yesterday. I prerecorded March 16, and at that time the ship date was mid-May.

Due to QC issues it was the delayed to June, then July, August, finally shipping on 9/2. More on these issues in a moment.
On to the good stuff..Rather than the regular one or two beam pattern bars, this one boasts 8 beam patterns/modes.
It also has an 'Adaptive Mode', in which the 8 beam patterns will automatically change based on the vehicle's speed.
Each light pod also has an led accent light outlining the pod that can change to any color in the spectrum. These are DOT approved, and look super sweet.

I contacted Rigid several times over the 5-month period, and each time they said ship date was delayed due to final changes being made by their dev team to address QC issues. I became more and more weary as they continually delayed release date, and rightfully so. I have several malfunctions and notified Rigid today upon completed install, and they said they will likely send me a new one, and will call me no later than 11AM this morning to work out the details. All I've read is praises of their CS, so I expect this to be resolved swiftly, just sucks thinking they may have knowingly released some faulty ones. Guess that could be said for any new product pushed to launch day.
I also added some 6" E2 Series rear lights and will post those pics in my build thread.

I was able to snag a few Adapt pics as the sun was setting and a few at dark. I think the amber accent grill lights several on the forum have installed are in the near future, but would really like ones that will change to match the accent lighting I am running on the Adapt bar, just need to do some research.

I will add better pics and even beam patterns as soon as I can find the time.
For now these will have to suffice..

Indeed, not cheap. This was my anniversary gift from my wife, and her diamond earrings & necklace were much more, so I ain't trippin'.

Just think though..How many owners buy multiple lights for the different beam patterns? Light bar w/spot, flood, combo, grille/driving, ditch etc..

This gives me everything I need in one bar, and can easily change modes with the controller, or I can just set it to Adaptive mode and it changes beam patterns based on my speed--done & done. Bonus: looks f'n dope!!

I have two lightforce 240s, two sets of rigid dually d2s (fog pattern in my bumper and driving pattern ditch lights), and a 40" bar from seward offroad on the roof. Total cost: $1300 cad (about $1000usd right now). I guarantee I get more spread and more distance for less than half the money.

Sure, the Radiance bars look kinda cool, but they're not worth the price for what you get IMO

I agree! One light alone is not going to give the same coverage and distance as specifically placed lights. I have a Baja Design 20" S8 spot behind the grill along with the squadron pros(fogs) and sports (ditch) and I get pretty good coverage as well. I plan on picking up a 30" bar for when I get my bumper too which would still put me under the cost of adapt light bar and way more lumen output as well.

Don't get me wrong, I have nothing against Rigid as I do own and use some of their products and while it does look dope as hell with the accent lighting, it just doesn't do it for me functionally as I would never get the full use out of it. That said, I hope it works out for you!

Good deal, that sounds awesome. This isn't part of the Radiance series, it's the new Adapt series.

Look, I get it, but to each his own. I remember everyone talking about how much the TRDP grille cost when I did the conversion early '16, and how they can just wrap or dip or whatever else they want to do to their grille for much less. Now everyone and their dog has done the TRDP grille conversion, and others are even ordering some fiberglass mold of the TRDP grille for 1/8th of the cost. Good for everyone, 'get in where you fit in/get it how you live'

I didn't start this thread as a price comparison, and never even mentioned what I paid. I did mention how I get 8 beam patterns in one single light bar, which is awesome, period.
This thread is for the product itself, and I'm sure others will soon be posting their Adapt lights as well.

As for the "more spread and more distance", let's wait until I can hit my folks land and get some pics of the different beam patterns/intensity.
Who knows, maybe yours is 10x my Adapt bar; won't bother me one bit, as I f'n love this thing!! :guitar3:

Man those are nice... adjustable beam pattern is amazing to me. I didn't know they could do that... now I understand why it cost that much. That said, having something like that, with optics, road legal... price actually seems not too bad.

I don't know how many of you are photographers, but these things remind me of the high end flashes like a 580ex Speedlite.

As you zoom the lens, the flash also zooms. The internal reflector is motorized and it actively changes the beam pattern to maximize the amount of light available to that field of view.

How are they doing it on the Adapt Lights?

theres 112 leds in the 40" bar. these are advertised as no moving parts, so i'm guessing different leds come on for different modes. Thats why these things are so big!

If I can fit a 30" on my hefty fab bumper, i will probably get one and a 40" for my roof rack. I only paid $300 for all the rigid lighting i have now (30" sr2 and 2 sets of d2's) so i imagine these 2 won't be a whole lot more than that.
