Rims!!!!

Hello All,

I am Fairly new to the whole forum business and this is my first Thread.


I Drive a 1996 T4R and I love it. I have the stock T4R rims on it but I am thinking about finding some that are black but am not sure how it would look. I was also thinking about buying the 17' Tundra Rims for it Because I like the beefy looks. If you have pics of the Tundra rims or any other style of OEM Rims I would love to see them!

Below is some possible choices for the Runner. Lets see some opinions.



Powder Coat OEM
Toyota Tacoma Powder coated alloy 15

Black OEM
6 lug Rims/Tires 2001-2004 Toyota Tacoma

Tundra OEM
Refinished Toyota Tundra 2003-2007 17 inch Wheel, Rim | eBay

Hey man!

Looks like you figured out how to post this thread! SWEET! Anyway, the Tacoma wheels, are basically yours, just powder coated....if you really like them, just find a place to powder coat yours for you.

My choice: Get the 03 - 07 Tundra Wheels (the last link), those look best on our rigs! A few guys on this forum are running these. Just keep in mind, you'll have to upgrade to a different tire. If so, you may want to look at a lift (if you want a lift that is) and then buy bigger tires to go with the new wheels and lift........

Just a few thoughts to ponder......

Also you might want to check out this thread. http://www.toyota-4runner.org/class...-please/91578-fs-tundra-split-spoke-rims.html They might have been sold already, but worth a try. Definitely get the Tundra rims, the others are too boring.

I also vote for the Tundra wheels. I think those look awesome on the 3rd gens. The 2nd set of Tacoma wheels would be my last choice.

4Runner 99-02 5 stars or Sequoia/Tundra 17's for sure. I have the 5 stars on my truck.

With stock split 3 spoke rims (same as your current set)

With 5 Stars

Have you considered gunmetal instead of black? The OEM gunmetal Sequoia rims or 5 stars painted gunmetal look pretty badass in my opinion.

My thoughts exactly! I was thinking Gun metal too! Actually, I'm thinking of repainting my old 3 spokes that color before winter....just have to find a deal on some rubber 1st......

If you want to wait a little I will have 5, 5 star rims to sell in about a month. Just a thought.
