To my old friend...
On the morning of May 16, 2018 you gave the ultimate sacrifice and cut short your life in hopes of extending mine. You were rear-ended by an SUV traveling at 60 mph while at a dead stop on Interstate 59 north of Houston, TX. The impact of the collision threw you forward with such velocity that even after the glancing blow to the Dodge Ram 1500 in front of us you found yourself thrust up the concrete shoulder jersey barrier. There, with airbags deployed, you employed your skid plates to safely slide us to a stop - your final resting place became a 45 degree angle. That morning you gave the ultimate sacrifice and gave up your life in order to save mine. We had been through a great deal together in the last decade. Through our first cross country trip, first house, first marriage, and first divorce, you navigated me through the obstacles associated with each with class and distinction. You never asked for much and never once gave me an issue - even after 199,301 miles of memories you remained reliable and trustworthy to the bitter end. I thank you for everything you gave me in our decade together and wish you well in the great off-road park in the sky. Vaya con Dios my old friend.
