hey i just saw ur build on the rear shock mount looks nice but when u stuff your rear tir full it does not rub the shock? and thats the same hieght as the stock mount?

Rip, just an update on the bug guard: I took you advice and ordered the OEM one from toyotapartworld.com. It was the best deal I could find for $59.99 plus $28 shipping. The $12 shipping quote from toyota parts zone was wrong so it was more expensive. Just got it in today and it is perfect. I just wanted to point out that there is a different part number for the 01-02 sport editions like we both have. It is PT42789990. And fwiw, definitely prefer the look with the guard on. That black strip just adds the perfect amount of contrast to the fully color matched thundercloud 4runners like we and Gentry have.

On the instructions it differentiates the 2 because of the sport hood scoop. I don't know for sure, but I think the sport one has more of a turn up in the middle section of the bug guard. May not even be noticeable. But since you have a Sport, might as well get the one designated for it. The price is the same.

well...welll... well. I finally finished reading through this entire thread - I was aware of bits and pieces of your build thread, like the cargo box and your rear axle incident, but it was good to piece all that together into one timeline...
Now I have even more appreciation for how awesome your 4R is and how much work you've put into it! Keep it up man!
I do need to figure out how to wire a switch for the antenna, I don't use my radio ever, but only the AUX in or the USB, so I don't care about it.
I've noticed a lot of engineers on this site! I would make a good one, but there are too many math (and science) courses for me to like engineering in the long run!
