Some folk were wanting more pics of my dual Savage swingouts.

The last three are of the mounts I bolted on for my hi-lift. I tried to bolt things on rather than weld so I can easily change stuff up.

Another great Trail Jamboree with these two. Got to revisit my flop spot from last year. And [MENTION=116470]Tyler James Inc[/MENTION] made it up for Saturday. Hard to get pics of your rig when you are wheeling.

Only issue is I am hitting upper coil buckets with something. Can't really see well enough so I will take it apart this week. I thought someone else had this issue but I did not find it in my searching.

As you can see it is stuffing well enough to catch and bend the fender at the top of the wheel opening. Time for more trimming.

It was a great trip. Head on out sometime!

Leaning toward it being the spindle gussets I welded on. Hopefully I can eliminate contact without having to do anything too extreme.

Looks like a fun trip. That pic of the trail looks a little challenging...I need to make a trip to Bend someday.

I'm having the same problem with coil buckets. I haven't been able to figure out what is hitting, and I think you just solved it for me. I have the same spindle gussets...

The pics were up on the trails outside of Naches. And I didn't follow the red Cherokee on that line - there were plenty of others.

Going to tear apart the driver side tomorrow so I can find out what is going on.

From the picture, it looks like it may be the rear portion of the thick gold/brass colored plate on the SPC upper ball joint (the thing that the star plate sits on).

I don't see any marking on it - maybe I will when I take it apart.

And if you look at the pic of the passenger side it looks like it is something more pointed.

^^^ this was my initial thought as well (on my 4runner), but after close inspection, I couldn't find any evidence that the 'spacer' had made contact with the coil bucket. I think Rkntoy is on the right trail...the top of the welded spindle gusset. I felt (couldn't see without removing the tire) mine last night, and could feel some 'scars'.

I had a similar issue with the SPC alignment cam/ ball joint making contact in the same area. I didn’t have spindle gussets at the time so I know that was the issue. I’d be willing to bet that you are having the same issue. My solution was to adjust the cam one setting forward (I think it was forward?). It already made some self clearance so the minor adjustment just kept it from making contact again.

Smoothed everything out and tried not to remove too much of the spring bucket.

Big reason driver side was worse is because of what they did on the upper arm to get the camber back in spec. The adjuster is all the way in.

And some more things to work on. Good thing the control arms from [MENTION=118730]AssBurns[/MENTION] are in the shop.

And I want some stiffer shocks with my 861 springs. Go with Tokico?

I've been running 861's and Tokico shocks for almost a year. For comparison my rig is pretty heavy (I think?), it weighs 5200 lbs loaded for the trail and with a full tank of gas. I really like the flex of the Tokico shocks. Even with my weight, the combo is pretty stiff. Maybe that has more to do with the coils though?

Either way, IMO, they are WAY BETTER than the Bilstein 5200's I took off.
