So he gets mad, hits first, gets his ass kicked, pulls a gun afterward, fires it, then turns his back on them, and is now going to jail and will likely never be able to own a gun again.

This is just full of fail.

eta - I'm trying to figure out where it came from. His hands are empty, the woman comes between him and the camera, poof he's got a pistol. Was it in his pocket?

eta again - that's HER gun, she walks up with it and they back off, then she hands it to him. Was she a passenger in his truck?

^ good catch... I was trying to figure out what got them to back off. So I assume her dumb ass will be charged as well.
 
Hmm, am I the only one a little confused as to when the shot happened? The audio makes it sound like it fires as he is cocking it? Or is that a door slamming? Or is the audio just out of sync? :confused: So many questions.

Either way, that's a major no-no to pull a gun out like that for something so trivial. :bash:

See that's what I thought. Now I'm wondering if the kids lied about him firing the gun at all (or maybe the news story just got it wrong). But yeah, I definitely agree, idiots all around!
 
lol I didn't even see the link to the news story I just watched the video. In my eyes, I see a man confronting some kid, hitting him, the kid and his friend beating him up, then the man's wife or gf get out and hand him her purse gun or gun in the car and he just had it in his hand. No shots fired, just a door slamming. Leave it to the news to get it misconstrued haha.
 
You forgot the part where the kids damage his ego so badly that he has to resort to pointing a gun at them lmao :doh:
 
Having read about this in several "news" articles, some of the articles stated that the guy shot at the truck, as it was driving away. This supposedly happened after the video ended.

But it's the media, that can and often does twist facts and/or omit details, to tell whatever "story" they want.

So who knows what really happened.

The dude came back after the confrontation on the video, and then proceeded to shoot up the kids truck...heres a video about the rest of the story...I know its Fox News, but still...

I dunno about trivial, those guys appeared ready to put him in the hospital if they could. Pretty serious punks if you ask me. But because he started it, and then wouldn't let it go, he's to blame. You can't write a check your butt can't cash and then expect Papa Glock to bail you out.

The thing is, if he hadn't gone after them again, there probably would be no charges filed. He started a fight, got his ass kicked, so far so good. Then the punks he was confronting escalated and started doing serious damage to him - seeing a present threat, his wife drew a weapon, they backed off, and again all good, I doubt there'd be any legal trouble (maybe there would, this is NC and I don't know what the cops are like there). But once he took that firearm and brandished it himself, at guys that were retreating, and then fired it... that's assault, much worse than their assault on him.

I haven't seen if it's been reported, but I'm wondering if this clown had his CC permit or was just a joker with a gun in his truck.

Yeah I could have worded that better. I meant the whole situation was so trivial, that it never should have started and therefore the gun should've never came out. I agree with everything you said though. It should've never started, but it also should've ended after the gun came out and they backed off.

Edit: And since we're on the subject of road rage, has everyone seen this one?

didn't look real close but looks like a glock 27 to me. the newscaster says it "discharged". he wasn't even pointing it when the "shot" sound happens. its pretty tough to accidentally fire a glock. but ya, coming back and being a idiot sealed the deal.

Via NC justice department. it is illegal, CCW carry or not, to pull a weapon on someone unless they present a clear life threatening danger. (I.E you can't pull a gun on someone just because they're kicking someones ass.)

If the kids had continued to beat the man more so instead of backing off once he hit the ground. At that point the wife would have the legal ability to draw the weapon because the kids at that point would be presenting a life threatening danger to the man. Essentially they would have to be beating him to death for her to have the right to pull the fire arm.

Or if the kids drew a knife out or similar weapon that could cause extreme bodily injury. In this circumstance the only clear and present danger presented was presented upon the kids after they had settled there dispute about being punched in the face on there own property.

Also the man had the opportunity to get in his truck and leave before ever needing to pull a weapon. Same as his wife, nether of them were put in life threatening danger. Therefore they illegally drew a firearm and presented it in a threatening manor.

For situations where fists are being thrown, hand to hand combat does not present life threatening danger and in retrospect cannot be controlled with the use of a gun.

For instance If my wife were to enter a fight between her and another person I could not enter vein with a firearm legally unless the person she is fighting draws a weapon or presents enough force to cause extreme bodily injury or fatality. I would only be able to step in and help fight with my hands until a weapon became presented threatening her or my own life. Also If we had the ability to flee the threat without injury even after being approached with deadly force. I must choose (legally) to flee and get my family and self away from the threat. If I have no means to flee then I'm engaged to return deadly force.

that's the way our legal system in NC looks at this.

When I first watched this my first thought was they are both going to be charged with Attempted Murder(DA's, Cops always charge big and go down in most cases). As soon as she come out with the gun she became an part of the crime. They are pretty much F^&*#$. He had intent, he threw the first punch, and then took the gun given to him by the wife, loaded or not and used it= Jail Time for both of them, not only that the kids will be put into the foster care system and they will have to fight to get them back.

they will probably wind up with probation over jail time. It doesn't seem as if they're hurting for money, and money always talks ways out of these things unfortunately.
