Road trip

Light tires and super-easy driving will definitely help get better mileage. I've always thought that if I had the patience to drive 50MPH on a long trip (in 5th gear most of the time), my 4R could get maybe 22 or 23MPG....maybe 25MPG....on the highway. But not with BFG AT KO2 tires, and not going 65 or 75MPH.

I drive hers on long road trips and I've never avg more than 18 to 19 mpg. Of course I'm driving 75 to 80 mph and when I hit the hills I pull high rpms trying to keep up with every thing else. I just filled up, 15 gallons for 25.00 so I really won't be slowing down in anything now.

Seconding the OP...I've *just* reached 24 when cruising a steady 52ish on a straight non-bumpy back road for a couple hours.
Stock everything, 2wd. It IS possible.
