"Roaring" after 2 inch lift

Check your inner joints on the axles before you buy anything. It's not uncommon for them to not go back together right, and they'll roar and vibrate like a *****. You can visually check or slap it in 4 Hi and see if it gets worse. If it's the bearing you shouldn't hear any change.

I did end up doing that today and the roaring was still there in 4 hi.

Just wanted to give an update that the cv axle replacement clamshell did not fix the issue.

The sound/vibration is still there after greasing up all of the rear driveshaft. It seems to peak at around 30mph. I will remove the skid plate and check the rear drums.

I had a similar issue when I installed a full set of shrockworks skids. only would happen some of the time, super frustrating. turned out to be the transfer dynamic damper would contact the skids when the rpms/conditions were just right.

the eninge/transmission/transfer actually moves/vibrates quite a bit. there is a very good reason the engine/transmission/exhaust is all mounted on rubber isolating mounts.

if it's not the skid I would pull off the front drive shaft then drive it and see if it goes away. the front shaft is a simple ujoint connection that will vibrate if the flange angles are off even just a little. the diff drop could push the flange angles out enough to cause a vibration.

this is one of those things that once you find it... will be totally obvious. until you find it it can drive you nutters.

Just an update.

Turns out it was the roof rack I installed while doing the lift. At certain speeds the wind flair vibrates against the rack itself which was causing the noise. Right now I have the flair off and will be adding some rubber around the front bar to prevent said noise. As others have done with the rola rack also.
