Does anyone use these for off-road, or just at the mall?

I have definitely used mine on the trail.

Ironically, I just redid my entire rock light setup and on my very first trip one of my dogs was injured right as my wife and I were getting ready for bed. We ended up having to wheel out to get to a 24hr vet at 1AM (3 straight hours of wheeling out). Thankfully the pup is totally fine now!

I am very happy that I had the random desire to redo all the rock lights. They helped a ton that night.

I plan to install some before getting back to Az regularly, the primary purpose being to see rattlesnakes before approaching the vehicle or getting out at night. Ive had then come out from under vehicles on several occasions and its quite unexpected. Once was right after stopping, I didnt see the snake at all when pulling up, get out, turn around Snake! Another time was 2 minutes after stopping then turn back to get back in, surprise! Snake!

Ive had many unpleasan t encounters with rattlesnakes besides the ones mentioned, to include one IN my house, twice under the porch steps as I came home in the dark, they rattled as I stepped on the step, Ive had many in the driveway and yard of an old place, stepped over one to go in the garage once then saw it 20 seconds later coiled up right where I walked in. Thats just the most memorable ones.

Thanks for the replies.
All the videos I've seen of them were of multi-colored pattern-flashing mall-crawling setups.

They make for nice campsite lights... nicely lights up stuff around the truck at night without getting in your face.

I don't really like wheeling at night, it's already hard enough to do during the day.
