How do I tell if I broke the KDSS circuit in my LE?

You don't have KDSS so you can't disconnect the wrong KDSS line. Now you could screw up the XREAS though...

I felt like I noticed some slight differences after mounting my Metal Tech sliders maybe a year and a half ago...but I have no plans to remove my sliders so will likely never know. Fact is that even if there is a slight and noticeable impact the benefits they provide negate this for me.

Agree 100% I'm definitely not removing them, I bought them for a good reason.

Part of what threw me off is that I picked up the sliders from UPS and threw them in the back of the truck and didn't notice a difference carrying that weight in the cargo area when driving home. But then they were noticeable after mounting. Maybe just a perception thing ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I've only found one other reference to handling changes after installing sliders, and it's on this old thread:

I definitely feel the difference in the ride. Like the first time I loaded it up for a camping trip.
Realized real quick that the stock suspension wasn't going to do it for me.

As long as KDSS is functioning properly after install and I didn't break anything, it's really a minor thing.

I noticed a difference when I mounted my steel RCI transfer case skid that the vehicle felt more bottom heavy and dampened. I didn't notice when I put the aluminum transmission or intermediate plates on. I did not notice a change when I installed my sliders either. Strange what can make that change noticeable. I'm not surprised you notice a difference in handling given the location of the added weight.

Hi, I recently bought and installed RCI sliders (without tread plate) and am very happy with the quality of their product.

Having said that, I am surprised at how much the addition of sliders appears to have changed the on-road behavior of my KDSS-equipped TEP. Feels a decent bit more splashy/wobbly, especially over bumps.

Curious if anyone else experienced changes in handling when adding sliders?

Of course adding weight to any vehicle will affect lots of things. But it's really not that much extra weight over the stock running boards and they are mounted low and tight to the frame so definitely wasn't expecting this much of a difference.

Did you ever figure this out? Do you still have the rci sliders on?
