I have the HD-SKO sliders from stubbs welding like others on here. Love em and they even saved me from a couple trees because they stick out pretty far. Also gets you props from your girlfriend because they double as steps.
this is what I need as the wife and kids will use these to climb in. Waiting on my check to arrive and then ordering a bunch of stuff!

Not TrailGear. I've seen two sets (mine and another), and the finish on both was not spectacular at all. They're supposed to be pre-notched, but the notching in both cases looked like it'd been done by an untrained monkey. I didn't like the finish on my "ready to install" axle armor from TG either.
I'd look to AddictedOffroad or 4xInnovations for inexpensive but functional sliders.
Trail Gear is a weld-together and weld-on slider. If you're not comfortable cleaning up a notched tube (you have to cut the legs to fit anyway), you probably aren't looking for a weld-on slider anyway. As for finish, they come in bare oiled steel and their welds look better than mine  The finish is whatever can of spray paint or bedliner you care to throw at them.
