I was just getting ready to pull the trigger on a set of these for myself and I have a couple questions. My local 4x4 shop quoted me 5 hours for the install. Is that right, how could it take this long to install these? Thanks
It should be more on the order of 3-4 hrs. You can save on that time by grinding the paint from the frame where you want the legs to be. They'll need about a 5 inch square area cleaned to bare metal. That can save .5-1 hr right there. Fit up and welding shouldn't take nearly 4 hrs for an experienced fab shop.
I don't do full plates like what he did. We sometimes do expanded steel tops that weld between the tubes. We've also done that from sheet metal. Give me a call and we can talk about those options.
What length are the legs? I am really wanting sliders to double as step bars, (the wife would stop fussing this way). It is hard to tell in a few pictures if they stick out far enough.
