That looks great! So you coated your luggage carrier thing to? Any pics of that on it? Haha and btw where did you get those door panels?

Por 15 doesn't like uv. That's about it though if you ask me. They look and feel pretty similar. I like por 15

I don't have any pics of that currently but it looks just like the fenders now. I can snag a few tomorrow. It's hanging in the garage currently.
The limited cladding came out of a junk yard for a total of 75 bucks I think. It was lkq ' s 50% off sale and I stripped a lot of parts and I killed two brown widows to get those darn things.
Do you know of por15 needs rust to bond ?? I know por15 sells metal prep and degreaser. Which I have a gallon of each. Buf I'm skeptical about the whole prep process and that I know for fact not every little spot will get the metal prep and it might chup easy or develop rust under. Would you recommend por15 as a coating protection layer or chassis saver. My frame has no rust. Few little surface spots on body mounts.
Also do you think it's safe to use fluid film after it all dries !!! Because with fluid film , which is a waxy product. That would be like a kick in the face to rust and salt. Just wondering if fluid film.would have some kinda chemical reaction to por15 or monstaliner.
ThIng is I have quart of por15 and gallon of metal prep and degreaser. Just don't know if I should use it on good looking frame.

Good clean metal is what por 15 likes if I am not mistaken but you have the items to treat the metal anyway. The degreaser is highly concentrated and you should cut it with water according to directions. That marine clean stuff is amazing though. I love it. The metal prep is an acid (phospheric acid?) but it lays down a layer of something (can't recall but it's in the directions) and por 15 loves to bond with it. The acid also ensures that the metal is clean and ready for paint.
There will be no reaction (or I will be very surprised) to either por or monstaliner with the film. You can easily use por as a base for monsraliner. You just need to make sure you rough the surface first so the gloss is gone.
I would definitely put this on a perfectly rust free frame. I did it because while I am stationed out in the desert right now my home state is Kentucky. I intend not to lose my 4runner to rust.
Hope this helps. All the paint stuff is confusing in the beginning but once you do it a few times your prep will get much better. I would suggest doing something like your axle first so you can get a feel for how the paint brushes out. It will help when you get to something as large as your frame.
Thanks man. So I can lay POR15 down first. Rough that up, and lay chassis saver on top of the por15, correct ? Or would you recommend just lay monstaliner on top ? Or just skip por15 and lay chassis saver.... I know por15 fades and doesn't like UV, and needs a top coat to protect against UV, does chassis saver ? If chassis saver doesn't fade and it would be reasonable to put over por15. Like your saying.
My goal is to make the frame rust free as much as possible even if means to go overkill !! And ofcourse so it the products don't chip easilly of the frame. I also heard if using por15, forget about welding on that metal !!

Chassis saver and por 15 are the same thing really. That would be overkill imo. You could lay simple rattle can black over the por for a top coat and then lay the wax stuff you have on top of that and that would be very well protected.
Chassis saver to my knowledge is uv resistant.
You can remove any paint but if you are talking about welding THROUGH por15 then you are absolutely correct. That would be funny to watch.
I was even told if you grid down the por15 it's still impossible to weld on that spot. Because por15 soaks into the metal. Do you know of it's the same thing for chassis saver ?

Looks good. I wanted to do the same but was hesitant because I wanst sure it would bond good and it then might start hiding issues.
I doubt POR soaks into the metal. It bonds to the surface mechanically but its not going to changing the structure of the metal. A grinder can take it off, but you'll be removing a layer of base metal too.

Yes sir. I see it comes with the gallon kit. I think I'll.get the gallon as I wanna go over my roof rack, and bumpers plus rocker pannels.

monstaliner is a two part mixture just like raptorliner. You just dump the stuff in the mix and hit it with a drill mixer. Comes out great.
Hope your project comes out the way you want it to. I certainly like the way monstaliner came out for me.
So that extreme performance catalyst is like a hardner ?
