Has anyone ever bought rockers from Wolf/Alfa steel? 1996-2001Toyota 4 Runner Body Panels

Are they worth it? I really need to get my rockers done before the rust spreads

i looked your thread, have you started the rockers? here is someone on facebook that showed me a (trick) but i dont really want to do that, it's a neat idea but i think i could get better results using other techniques

I have my drivers side done. Wasn't too bad either. The passenger side is half bondo'd and I ended up making another hole poking around.

Did you find this link while searching T4R? I've seen it on an old thread just can't find it right now. On my 98 I'm in the process of what's going on in the picture.

yes i found it in a old thread, don't know wich tough, and also the rockers are cheap, and since i live near the guy its like 35$ shipping, or i could go pick em up for a 2hr ride ^^

I'll be using their panels this summer. It's the only place out there that I know of to get new replacement panels from.

I looked into them for dog leg replacements. I only found info on second gens, but whatever I read stated that they aren't very good in terms of fit.

Just bought a 1999 5spd and the rocker panels need some serious work.

Did you ever end up buying panels from wolf steel and using them?

F*** rocker panel rust. You guys ever looked under the plastic trim ? The rocker panel goes under the floor board. At least it looks like that. And if you really want to fix rocker panels. I'd say the door seal area would have to be cut out and replaced ?

Please share photos when you guys do this. Seems very common. 99% of why the rocker panel rust because the 2 front roof drain, they drain into the rocker panel. Like inside of it. Then water drains out through pinch welds

Check out my thread for how I replaced my rusty rockers. I ended up cutting it all out and replacing them with 1.5"x3" rectangular steel.

That looks awesome man. I always thought about putting angle instead of replacing it back with rocker panel. Let me ask you, did you wire wheel the rust when you cut it out ? And how much did u cut out? Got more pics ? How is it holding up ??

More pics are in my build thread (link in sig). For the inside of the rockers I wire wheeled the rust, welded some patch-panels in a few areas, brushed on a rust converter, then a rust encapsulator, and finally a black top coat. I can't speak to how it's holding up as I just finished it about a month ago, but I see no reason this won't out-live the truck. Right now I'm in the process of cutting out the rear quarters/wheel wells to fix that rust too :ybrick:

Props to you man. Highly recommend removing the rear big plastic trims. You'll have access to the rear panels from inside. Well little bit of access. Good time after you fixed it to put some fluid film inside there. Like from inside. You know. Because it probably rusted out from inside.

I bought them in the spring and just have not got around to installing them yet for my 98. I have to get inner rockers made as they are gone for the most part.

The guy I talked to was pretty cool and shipping from canada was not that bad. I will try to keep you posted when I find the time to get them installed.

Who made the inner rockers ? Do you have to cut out any part where the door seal sits on ?

The pic you see is the outer rockers from wolfe steel. I will have to make inners myself.
