I was looking at RR sliders, but went with Shrock step sliders.
Are yours strong enough to jack from them? The Shrock one, on the pax side, requires drilling one hole which I dislike and did not do. It can be jacked between the two support legs but that leaves only 1/8" inch between the front leg and the front edge and the rocker panel. I am thinking of spacing the bolts of the front leg a bit to give that front edge more room in case of a bad hit (it would push it out of the pinch weld). I might eventually drill the hole, too, lol.
BUT, my issue is with the driver side where all bolts are in place. I can jack between the two supports with more air between supports and pinch weld. However, I do have traces of contact between the front leg and the rocker panel. The plastic shows minimal contact, but still contact. I am not sure if this happened at the dealer or if I did it when jacking from various points.
I have only dragged my pax slider over rocks, the driver slider has only one penny sized stripped of powdercoat spot from a side rock.
Finally, on the Shrock sliders, it is impossible to jack from behind the rear support leg as the slider's square tube goes straight into the rocker panel before the rear wheel has gone airborne.
Since the RRO sliders seem to have somewhat flimsy support legs, I was curious if you have similar observation or if having 3 vs2 legs actually helps.
When I was looking, I was a little concerned of Shrock's 2-leg design but could find no complaints on the internet.
Or just being able to apply some strong pressure to them until they start cutting new threads? They also look slightly bigger than the stock ones I removed. I assume this is so they make a tight fit. Thanks for any advice.
