Received my Southern Style Speed slimline bumper and test fitted it before getting it painted.

Nice build!

OP, your build is coming along great! Really dig the simple mounting of your 30" stealth light bar. Subscribed!

Bard Creek up in Empire. I didn't get far because of some snow, so I want to try it again soon.

TrailDamage.com - Bard Creek

Thx, drove by there this weekend on my way back from steamboat, didn't seem like much snow, certainly didn't have great skiing. I'm going to be camping in a few weeks and looking around for ideas whee I can get the truck back in without too much effort.

Subscribed, really like what you have done so far! I'm slowly taking a similar route and have been really considering the same front bumper, but I think a lift is in order first.

Got my bumper back from powder coating and installed! My winch is the Smittybilt XRC 9.5k. I had to lose the light bar behind the grill though, I may try to remount it when I get some more time but that would require relocating the winch solenoid and cutting a hole in the grill to access the clutch release lever.

Looks great man! I have an SSS that goes on next week. I did get the light bar slot between my shackles though... And i still need to move my soleniod from what I've been told. We'll find out soon on my end. Best luck to you on the bar mount.

Thanks! Hopefully I can make it work, if not I will get a 20" and mount it to the bumper. Good luck!

I decided to build my own roof rack...

Unsatisfied with the rack that I had made for me by a guy off Craigslist, I decided to attempt to just build my own. I really wanted a Drabbits rack but I didnt want to wait and I think the Gobi is overpriced. So admittedly I used the Drabbit's design to go off of. Not taking anything away from his racks...they look amazing. I just figured if I could build one half as nice, I would be happy.

So I dont have a tube bender so I had a local shop make me some 90 degree bends in my 1" steel tubing I purchased.

Then I welded them together in the middle using a slug technique.

dsc_0490.jpg

So now I had a basic layout of the frame. I gave it a little curve in the middle to follow the contour of the roof

I then purchased a tube notcher from Harbor Freight for $44. It really did the trick!

All welded up

20160403_175956.jpg

Then I made a plate for the front

20160405_200119.jpg

20160405_204338.jpg

Then put down some 9 gauge expanded metal for the flooring. I ended up welding every spot where it touched the rack so it wouldn't rattle.
