Roll Bar up grade

When Im done this will tie into the rear factory roll bar and all 4 seats will have 4 point security. Ill probably just have a lap belt in the driver seat because when you get your self all strapped in the 4 point you cant hang your head out the window.

if you connect that to the frame it will work.
but the way you have it now with floor plates this bar will actually kill you.
if you roll the bar will be stronger then the floor and fold forward or back killing the driver or rear passenger.

its a good idea but there is no good reason to use such a huge tube!
some 1.5 DOM with frame gussets through your floor will work better.

the rear factory roll bar is also a floor plate style but on a more reinforced spot.
two floor plates doesnt make it right. it will buckle and fail.

HAAA I just now looked at your example! I don't think it was the roll bar that got that guy! Dude, my crawler has a top speed of about 35 MPH and I doubt on a trail I will ever collide "head-on with a large truck". I generally just flop over on my side.

4W, The plate in the cab is 4 inch wide and runs from the rise the back seat sits on to the back of the front door area. Below it a 6x6 plate. In the front it is bolted with the seat bolt and the seat belt stud. At the rear it is bolted with two 1/2 inch grade 8s w lock nuts.

Agreed...and a second point to look at is the location of the crossbar (height from floor in relation to shoulders). A crossbar to mount shoulder harnesses to, should NEVER be below your (or passenger) shoulder height...in the event of a frontal impact (extreme example, but run the truck into a brick wall), the harness will try to become a straight line, from anchor point to anchor point...an arch over your shoulder will compress your back and risk compression or breakage.
Another point to look at is a side roll over and sudden impact (say a tree or something)...lack of triangulated gusseting will allow the 90 degree angles to deflect and buckle (collapse). Tube style gussets should be connecting at at least 1/3rd the total length of the span to reduce deflection (bending).

I mounted it in a junk 4 runner I have and rolled it twice down a gully with a backhoe. No catastrophic failure So I painted it and here it is with the jack and tire mounted on it. Thanks for your input guys

NO NO NO thats not only gonna kill you and your passengers but me as well. get rid of it thats too dangerous!!! and that spare tire is going to come lose and do something catastrophic i can just tell lol
