"Roll" in park

I tried searching, but I'm not exactly sure how to describe my issue, so I haven't been able to find anything yet

For the past couple of months, I've noticed that when I put my '01 SR5 in park it seems to "roll" (or "travel") more than it used to. It does stop, but seems to roll more than I remember.

Questions:

1) anything to be concerned about?
2) is it signs of transmission issues?
3) what would you do?

Additional info:

I haven't done anything aside from routine maintenance (oil changes, etc) in at least 6 months
Transmission fluid level is good
No CEL codes
No other issues (while driving) noted

Over the last 14yrs every bearing and joint in your vehicle has developed some slop after 14yrs of use and that's what is causing it. You are probably just now noticing it. It's nothing to worry about.

OP, really sorry to hear this. Unfortunately, this means your static positioning anti-thrust bearings are completely shot. We see this a lot in trucks with 219,000 miles, and it usually means that the end is not far off. You'd better ship your truck to me, and I can give her a proper farewell, just as Toyota would want.

yeah with the way he drives the truck will be worn to nothing very quickly.

The way the Park lock works is pretty basic, so it's hard to imagine anything going wrong with it. It's just a tooth that drops into a slot, and you'd have to do something really drastic to break either of those parts. I'd say it's probably just in your head.

I can see something like that getting worn down after a while. a lot of people dont use the parking brake, i think they like it when their vehicle shimmies back and forth when its parked.

Thanks for the response. I pretty much figured it was probably just "normal wear and tear" but figured I would ask just to get some other input.

Those parts are very, very hard. There might be a little wear, but we're talking about thousandths of an inch, and it's not likely you'd ever be able to tell a new one from an old one.
