Rollcage?

Stuck CAPS

I've been looking around for a while, and still have yet to come across a 4th gen rollcage. Will I have to design and make one myself or is there some underground 4runner market that you guys have been holding out on me for rollcages?

I've actually thought about an exo-cage in the future, but I'd want it to look clean and integrate with the vehicle well.

Also, on a body on frame vehicle do you built the cage on the body or from the frame to envelop the body?

I would think on the body, unless there is enough room built in for when the body and frame move independently from each other.

you build the exo skeleton around the body attaching to the frame, also allowing room for the body to flex inside the framing. most of the time you would come off your front, rear bumpers, and sliders and frame up over the vehicle.

on an internal roll cage you would bolt to the floor of the body and you have to leave room between the internal framing and the inside of the body to allow everything to flex they way it does.

I'm not too fond of the exo looks. I want a roll cage due to it being internal, so if anyone can find one internally, I'd be thankful.

4xinnovations makes an internal roll cage for the 1st gen and a few toyota pickups. I'm sure they would be glad to build an internal cage for the 4th gen they would just need your vehicle to mock one up. Also typically if you work with an off-road shop that would have interest in selling multiple internal cages they'll usually cut you a discount for allowing them to design it with your truck.

i 2nd these guys,
4x Innovations LLC: Internal Roll Cage

also, no exo...if its a wheeling rig, then its a wheeling rig, and its going to get dented.

i COULD get onboard with some strategically placed bars that come through the body, from the inner cage, to protect the glass.
but, not a full on exocage.

I don't see anything on a 4th gen, though :/

because they don't make one yet... they need a loaner truck to mock one up I'm not close enough or I would have already had them look into it. I live near budbuilt and have plans to get my truck to them for some projects. If they become interested in a roll cage I can get back to ya.

only option is a custom fab at this point..

lol no problem, it seems there just up in the bottom left corner of Wisconsin probably a good haul from you. However you can check around locally for 4wd fab shops that would perhaps be interested.

Southwest? I see a road trip coming up this summer ;P I have a friend whom I've not seen in ages that I could visit up there anyway!
