Roof Basket/Snowboarding Rack combo

Does anyone have this set up? A roof basket that can somehow carry snowboards and has a locking mechanism on it?

I was thinking maybe a Yakima roof basket, but push it forward as much as possible, then find another cross beam from a junk yard and put one rack on that, so that its behind the basket. When hauling skis and boards, the front end will be in the basket, while the end will be in the rack, locked up.

I have Yakima ski racks mounted on top of the megawarrior basket, I fold them down inside the basket when not in use, but you could also take them off just as easily.

Did you have the cross bar that's in the middle, and is that adjustable?

Yep I have the middle crossbar, and it can be moved anywhere on the rack, or taken off completely, the allen bolts come out and it's just a bar and 2 clamps.

My Ski racks are mounted to the back bar and the very front bar, the SNARS clamps just sit behind the fairing because the fairing is only secured from the bottom.

On my old Gen 2 (94) 4Runner I had a crossbar in the front door (yakima q tower) , and 2 crossbars in the factory tracks to get 3 bars. This was perfect with the Yakima load warrior with 2 extensions (18" each and each come with another crossbar to go anywhere on the basket for you snowboard carrier).

The basket (IMHO) looked great as it was the full length of the roof.

That middle crossbar is adjustable... and if you buy the extensions, they come with another one.
