Roof rack mounted light bars

Seeing the LED light bar played out thread regarding ricers mounting lightbars which I did make a comment in, I do have a question regarding LED bars mounted on full length racks. Do the light bars illuminate the hoods excessively when mounted at the front of the racks, or is the bottom spill controlled that much better that this is no longer an issue? Do the bars have to be tipped up somewhat to alleviate this problem or is it just ignored because of the "cool factor"? Having extra light available is a good thing so I am not debating that part, just the functionality of the light pattern when mounted in that position.

I have mine mounted up on my roof rack, the spill is not really too bad on the hood with my cheap ebay lights, but I run spot beam lights. I do notice on the windshield, when theres water drops on it that they tend to glare. However having them on the front of the truck getting shoved through every puddle and brush pile, and blocking airflow, I would much rather have them up top.

I don't have one on my rack but based on other 5th gen'ers comments I think the light beam pattern determines how much glare you get. The higher quality lights also seem to have less as well, maybe better optics? I have a rigid sr20 in my front grill and it puts out a ton of light and exactly what I wanted, makes high beams obsolete. I've thought about an LED bar up top, but it'd be a lot of money with little use for me plus I'd probably only need both in a zombie apocalypse, possible but not likely.

So I don't notice too much of glare off of mine, but I also plastidipped the mid section to help cut down on the glare.
