Roof Rack

Hi all. I have a 2000 T4R Limited that has a roof rack with a failing coating. I'm not sure if this was a painted piece or if there was a special coating. In any event, it is pealing off and revealing the bare metal underneath. Any suggestions? Thanks for the help.

remove and paint to the color of your choice with spray paint?

I think its a powdercoat If I remember right.

Prep before a new finish is key. Wire-wheel/ sand as much of the og finish off as u can. Wipe down with rubbing alc. Or brake cleaner.

Prime it. And....

I used a can of truck bed liner on mine and it came out really well. Very durable and scuff resistant too.
