Roof rola basket with custom mounts

I'm planning to put 4 lights across the front of the basket.
Need some input on what light I should put on my basket.
Right now I have Hella ff75, 550, and 500 as my candidate.
Here is picture of me holding a ff75 and 550 to my basket.

Sounds good, but did any of you consider the Hella 500 on the basket. I will try to get a picture holding up a hella 500 to the basket tomorrow.

i have piaa 520s on my roof rack that look almost like the hella 500s so if u want a point of reference of a 4 light install u can see the link in my sig. I like the round look but also do like the rectangular ones also... i think its all personal preference.

Looking good xskydivingdudex. The only thing about hella 500 is the air resistance it would cause when up there. This is where the hella ff75 shins with its low pro body. So the basic debate now is looks or aerodynamics? hummmm hard to decide and also cost. the ff75 I already have 4 of them cause it was used on my pathfinder which got kill by C.A.R.S. The hella 500 and 550 I only have a pair right now so if I chose either of them I need to buy another set. I will mounts one of the lights lights by monday I will update with pictures when mounted

Triplets maybe. Mine is a 2001 I have the Rola Rack in the basement and having been looking for a better way to attach it. Great writeup!

Truck looks great man! I followed your directions exactly on the mounts and now my rack sits nice and low. Still have to figure out how to keep the front half of the rack that overhangs the sunroof from sagging under weight. I was wondering if you have any pictures of how you ran the wiring up there? I am planning on putting some truck bed lights on my rola for when im loading/unloading my gear at night. Basically just looking for some lights to brighten up the night without being giant spot lights.

Do you know what type of bolts you used to mount them to the rails?

The bolts I used is the same bolts used to mount the rails to the roof. I just pick up a bunch of them when I was in the junk yard.

Any bolt that has the same threads pitch would work

I do! Check out my build thread. I cut the metal mounts that come with the Rola in 1/2 and used those to weld to the bottom of the rack... I used the screw ties that come on our rack rails to secure and tighten the rack

I did something similar to [MENTION=51260]Reina[/MENTION]. I took an 8ft section of angled aluminum and cut it into 9" sections.

Specs on what I used. I'm making another set for a friend right now actually.

I'm curious what kind of hardware you use inside the rail? I have the rails on my 01 , but nothing else.
