I have a 2008 4Runner Sport V6 with 125k miles. From Central California. In winter, I go snowboarding. I also spend a lot of time at the beach. In spring, I do light offroading in the so-cal desert, as well as in Sierras. Occasionally, I'll decide to go for a drive and end up places like Colorado, Utah, Idaho, Washington, and Oregon.
I need to do my brakes too and I'm confused on what parts to buy. I need part numbers. can you guys help me out? I've never done brakes before but I am mechanically inclined so I have no problem doing it myself. But I'm debating what to buy.

Someone mentioned upgrading to 5th gen brakes. This is possible? If so, what brake pads and stuff do I need to buy?
