Rough Country 3" suspension lift 96-02

Hey guys, I have done a decent amount of research on this lift and I think it is the way I am going to go. I want this lift because it is inexpensive and will be good ( I think ) for what I want to achieve. I am not doing any stressful offloading other then driving on light dirt trails, and a field here and there so it is basically just for looks and to help clear my tires. The one question I did have about this lift though, is this. Do you need to extend your brake lines in order to install this lift?

I have this lift and it's pretty straight up. Didn't have to extend anything
 
I know that extending the rear brake line is recommended for a 3" lift. I installed a 3" OME lift but did not extend the brake line because I still had a little (and I mean A LITTLE) bit of play in the brake line while the rear axle was allowed to fully hang freely while on the lift. I will most likely extend the brake line in the future just to be safe as well as do the Panhard drop.

I'm sure other's with much more knowledge on the subject than I will chime in.

It's good for the price. Don't get me wrong I'd love to have something better but it's done it's job. I don't go off-road too much. It's not the smoothest ride but I've been in worse too

Awesome, I am not too worried about the ride as I know it will vary a little compared to what it is now. I really was just curious about the brake lines. I just want to know about that before I make the commitment and drop the money for the lift.
 
I have the lift. I've had it for almost two years now. Very happy with it. Changing the shocks was the worst part.

Did you read through the lift FAQs?
 
Changing the factory shocks on these trucks is hell on earth. The nuts seize onto the shocks you have to work some magic or just sawzall them off. It's a monstrous pain in the ass, especially getting a sawzall between the shock, frame, and fuel tank on the driver side!
Being in Ontario made it way worse but I've heard from many guys that it's rough anywhere. I'd imagine changing shocks you've already replaced shouldn't be a big deal. I LOADED up the nut and top of the shock with grease to prevent that nasty salt and gunk getting in there. So hopefully in 100,000km, it shouldnt be a big deal! :D

I've said it before. I'll say it again. I'm really not a fan of rough country. I've heard customer service horror stories. I've heard of blown shocks, broken coil springs, and other structural failures. If it's not going off road much and you're not going to put it through too much grief, then go for it. If you plan on beating on it, I'd recommend otherwise.
 
I don't have a clue how y'all don't extend your rear brake line with a lift. On my stock suspension with the sway bar disconnected, I just barely have enough length.
