Rough Country Lifts

I've been doing some research on lifting and I've decided to do all suspension and no body lift. With Rough Country having such a good price on their suspension lift, I was wondering why no one runs them. This Lift by Rough Country seems to be good and Rough Country has a fairly good warranty on their products. I know Toytec seems to be the clear favorite but why?
I also am running a rear tube bumper and plan on putting an ARB bumper upfront.

I'm currently running it and its ok for the price, nothing special. Weight in the back with cause it to sag but that's not unusual. My front shocks have blown so I just ordered bilstein 5100s chit the front

From your experience, would you recommend or do you think I should go with a Toytec lift. Also how long have you had this in for?

You could get the same thing cheaper by piecing it together. This is only half of a suspension lift. Rear shocks and coils with a front strut spacer.

That lift kit is hybrid junk front lift spacers with Rough Country rear springs, which are what they say. Very rough.

If you're looking for just aesthetics or just increase ground clear, cool. Are your front coils and struts good? If they'll need replacing soon, might as well get a full lift. I paid $560 for my complete lift with coils and shocks on all 4 corners.

At the time I was a broke college kid and had blown rear shocks. Look at my new thread and you'll see what I'm talking about which is why the 250 price tag looked really good. I now have a bit more money to spend which is why I am going toytec/lc coils. The ride isn't great but it has worked for what I have used it for. It's mostly a dd, but sees the trails often and i push it. Having only driven worn shocks and the rc lift I don't have much experience, but I think toytec is the way to go. If you can't afford that than do what you think would be best. You will also likely need to reboot your cvs, so take that cost into it also

Do it right the first time, or pay more the next time. Rough Country lifts are good for what they are, but not meant for anything more than a mall crawler. Save your money and do it right the first time. You can piece everything today and save a bit of money. You could also search through the classifieds and come across great deals on slightly used stuff.

Half decent if you dont plan on wheelin it much. As someone stated above. About the springs being rough id have to disagree. Rides pretty stock

I have the rc lift on my 98( previous owner install). It doesn't ride bad, but I think spacer lifts are posing and not helping your suspension.I plan on going back to stock soon, so the 4&5 year old can get in. Then I'll put together a sweet lift when everyone is taller and the wife's allowance increases.:lever:

super smooth highway ride and outstanding control in rugged off road situations from the same shock, without turning any knobs or shock removal for re-adjustment. I have their earlier version, the Nitro 9000, and have been happy with them. Running them with OME 883 springs. Good ride, durable. I have 55K on mine, have been on about 500 miles of forest service roads with no problems. But for $45 more, I'd buy the Bilsteins (http://wheelersoffroad.com/product/...-5100-height-adjustable-front-strut-set-d558/).

As somebody who has reworked his suspension a couple times I will tell you this:

If I were to do it all over again, I wouldn't have gone cheap on suspension.

I got my runner in Dec and the guy i bought it from already had the rough country lift on it....it rides ok and looks good...not sure if its the lift or just being old but going over bumps it shakes a lot....but i am going to be looking to upgrade. I have 238k on it and not sure how much has been replaced but i do want to get new suspension....maybe bushings....lbj....and probably more. whats the best route? toytec? its a dd for the most part but i do want to take it out off road nothing too crazy...just dont feel comfortable taking it as it sits
