Rough Idling

There is the possibility that you might get a better response if you would just maybe give the year of your V-6 and if it is an automatic or manual.:awais:

My idle is fine. When I first start it revs up for a while to aid in warming up, but then returns to normal idle.

2004 V6 with about 16.5k miles...

If its really rough, take it to the dealership as it is probably under warranty.

I think he's the guy with the new transmission...

Mine idles fine, completely smooth. '05 V6 4x4.

I thought mine was idling rough while stopped at a stoplight last month....... but then I realized that stoplight was moving too. It was an earthquake.

The other time, I thought my 4R was somehow backfiring.... turns out it was fireworks.

so many times I have been driving and Im suddenly wondering WTH is is wrong when I realize it's the car behind me:arrow:

2005,3300 mi,haven't had a problem but on occasion at a light I have noticed a rough idle....then seems to smooth out and its okay. Sometimes I think the gas could be a problem. Maybe your problem too. Maybe change gas brand also how about running a tank of premium ...

Yeah I am the guy with the new tranny.... I appreciate it guys...I think im gonna have to take it back to the dealership AGAIN though

Could it be that when they replaced the tranny...they didn't completely 'button' up everything???

Maybe loose motor (tranny) mount...???

I would definitely try switching to a different gas station. I remember another thread a while back with somebody complaining of rough idling - went through all sorts of possibilities before they switched gas stations and the problem went away.

My 05 V8 Limited has a lumpy idle. I have had it to the dealership and they acknowledge that the idle is not smooth but they tell me there is nothing to worry about. I have tried all different types of gas with no luck. It seems worse when the AC Pump is running. I'm going to ask to drive another 05 V8 when I am at the dealership next and if the idle is smooth, I will be pushing to have something done.

I didn't buy a Toyota V8 for it to be rough at idle.

They don't seem to think there is a problem, but I once had a V6 Accord that had a slight shudder while going into overdrive and the dealership told me that it was slight and not to worry about it. I left it alone until one day the car stalled at a stop light when I stopped and that was it for the Torque Convertor.

I really wish I knew someone in the Ottawa area in Canada with an 05 V8 I could sit in for a minute to see what their idle is like.

I hate problems like this. I wish the thing would blow a code and it would be all done with.
