Thanks for your reply. I used to drive a Ford 250 4x4 diesel truck and believe me, my 4Runner rides rougher. It currently has about 88k miles and I believe the original shocks. I thought an indication of bad shocks was more of a spongy, bouncy ride rather than rough? How ofter do the shocks need to be changed? I'm not expecting it to drive like a Caddy; but I also don't want to knock the wind out of my back seat occupants if I hit a pothole.
What about suspension packages? We had looked into one that would lift the truck 2" which I wasn't sure about doing. I don't want to cause other problems with towing or rollovers.
What are your thoughts--shocks or suspension--that is the question?
