Hi All,
2011 4Runner SR5 owner in Canada with 79,000 KMs. I have searched and found the attached thread (http://www.toyota-4runner.org/5th-gen-t4rs/69434-surging-when-putting-gear.html) with no definitive conclusion.
When shifting from Park into Drive upon starup I get a lurch/surge forward on my 4Runner that is quite drastic. I must ensure that my foot is firmly pressed on the brake, otherwise it could be dangerous with another car in front. I admit if I wait for the truck to completely warm-up idle the lurch is less, however, still there. Shifting from Park into Reverse, it is much less.
Have any owners found a solution, or service that can aid in this problem? This is my first Toyota.
Thanks!
