rough shifting after trans flush

hit 125,000 without having any transmission fluid flush so finally got one done. My shifting has been rough ever since. Whats my best option? another flush or maybe a drain and fill?

Drain and fill was the right option originally, but you are past that now. Changing it again won't make a difference. Make sure the correct fluid was used (technically only Toyota fluid is correct) and the level is correct.
 
Who wants to bet the level is too high?

Anyway, yes, lots of missing info. What kind of "flush"? If it were done with high pressure or chemicals, then...... yikes.
 
Just did a drain and fill myself at about 138k miles and the tranny still shifts silky smooth. 2007 V6. The tech suggested against a full flush at this high of mileage. I will keep doing drain and fills throughout the next couple of oil changes.
 
I'm curious to know exactly what was done too--fluid replacement through cooler line or an actual pressurized flush? I'm getting ready to do a fluid replacement via the cooler lines to get the old dexron the PO had jiffy lube put in and would rather go the cooler line route than the multiple drain and fill route for the sake of time--but if it's going to cause problems like hard shifting of course I'd like to avoid that...
 
hey sorry everyone drivetrain is 2007 v6 sport 4wd. the fluid used was sunoco ATF global full synthetic fluid. after reading through forums doesn't look like that fluid is anygood haha, and they told me they used BG universal power flush? I have no idea what that is you guys will know better.

Get it out of the transmission asap. Use Toyota WS fluid.

Nope. Get that crap out of there (FULL fluid exchange, be sure the method doesn't involved chemicals or high pressure). Head to a Toyota dealer that does it. Use OEM WS ATF. Period.

If you read the majority of the treads relating to ATF, you will see you can NOT go wrong with Toyota WS ATF. Properly done of course.

Had mine done couple of months ago. $189 I believe thats the going rate.
 
103k miles on mine and never thought the transmission shifted rough or anything. Just had a complete fluid exchange/flush with WS and the transmission shifts sooo incredible smooth now.

Somethings definitely up with that fluid...agree with all previous responses.
 
Seems like this would be a good place to ask, Has anyone used Amsoil transmission fluid? I use their stuff for everything else, but it seems like the transmission in these vehicles has been designed just to make our lives difficult when it comes to fluid...

I run AMSOIL products front-to-back, have for years. In my 08' 4RNR I run only Toyota ATF WS in the transmission.
 
I don't recall Toyota recommending the trans being flushed in my 2008 V6/2w2s Manual.
Now i know many Toyota dealers, try getting you to have them flush the Trans.

I did a flush last year on my 2008 GX with Amsoil ATF and haven't had any issues. I had about 72k miles at the time.

Yep, did a full fluid exchange 65k miles ago with the Amsoil Toyota WS fluid and will use it again next exchange. If your in cold climates the Amsoil is way better in the winter. I will take a full synthetic atf anyday
