Recently I have noticed my rpms are running weird. When I crank it, it runs around close to 2000 almost which is odd for mine. When I shift into reverse it goes below 1000. While I am at a red light its below 1000 as well, and when i press on the gas to go its a little hesitant then it will go. I dont know if its a sensor or something. Any advice will help! Thanks for reading.

There's a write up on 4x4wire (I think) that tells you how to check it. It should be the first thing that pops up on Google.

Are you having any other issues with the vehicle?

Does it idle rough, do the RPMS fluctuate constantly or just stays fairly steady? Does turning on the air conditioning, holding the brake, and having the vehicle in gear make it run very rough?

Sounds like a possible vacuum leak or IAC issue, but a TPS is also a possibility.

Well while in drive its about 1500 then when I go in drive it shoots below 1000 and it never done that. And it's stays below 1000 while sitting still and turning on the AC has a tad bit of decrease cuz you can feel it

But is the idle steady or rough? It does sound very much like a vacuum leak, have you noticed a loss in performance?

An easy way to check is to take some parts wash and just spray around the engine bay a bit with the engine running, you'll hear the engine bog down as it sucks up the parts wash and it will help you locate the leak if there is one. Its an easy 5 minute test to rule this out.

Well it's definately rough cuz sometimes it'll run normal then suddenly the rpms fall. And yeah I've noticed some loss in performance and I sure hope it's a vaccum hose cuz that's way cheaper to replace lol

Carb Cleaner, Parts Wash, Parts Cleaner, as long as its in a spray can and flammable it'll do. Just try not to light yourself on fire as well!
