Rr diff lock?? 2000 lmt 2wd

WHAT DOES THIS MEAN AND WHAT DOES IT DO? I HAVE THIS BUTTON BUT WHEN I PUSH IT IN NO LIGHT ON THE DASH COMES ON ...I CAN SEE WHERE IT WOULD ON THE CLUSTER....IS IT A FAULTY BUTTON?CAN ANYONE SHED SOME LIGHT ON THIS SUBJECT?:wtf:

sounds like you got duped when you bought your 4runner. No diff lock for you.




Only sure way that it was not converted is to look at the rear diff to see if there is an actuator on it. if there is, test it to see if it works.

the other easier test is to dig the switch out and see if itis acuatually hooked up to wires.
 
yeah it is hooked up to wires...is it common for there to be a light on the cluster even if the vehicle has no diff lock? and where would i find this actuator ? is it top or bottom mounted
 
I'm confused,at the top it says 2000 lmt 2wd? If thta's the case then you don't have a rear diff lock,only for 4wd only.
 
well im confused as well i have the button that is hooked up to wires in the dash and it has ..on the cluster where it would light up...its weird to me why it would even be there at all..
 
Look at the rear differential.

If it look like this, then some one did the conversion.

If it looks like this

Then no e-locker for you.
 
It's starting to look like a guy had better look at the diff before buying a 4runner advertised as having an e-locker.
