You have to be in 4-lo for the diff lock to engage. Flashing means that it is not engaged but ready to engage. If you are in 4 lo and it still does not engage. Try moving forward SLOWLY turning back and forth. You may hear a pop when it finally does engage.
Out of curiosity, post-grey/blue wire mod can the locker be engaged while still in two wheel drive if under 5 mph?

The RR DIFF Lock light on my dash is flashing. It just started a day or two ago.
Does anybody have a clue what is going on? I sure do not.
I did try putting it in four wheel high and low and the green 4x4 light on the dash did not come on. Is it possible the electronic lock is not working for some reason?
Thanks in advance.
The rear diff lock will only engage in 4LO. If the truck doesn't think it is 4WD (no 4WD light on the dash), it won't engage the rear locker (unless the wiring is modified).292,000 miles on my 1996 SR5.

Hate to tell you what the problem was. I must have hit the button by mistake and did not realize it. I took it to a field and it engages properly in 4-low. I guess my 4X4 light on the dash is out. I probably can live without the light.
Thanks again
