I take it out when I'm drinking from big bottles. Problem solved. World peace achieved.

Of course, I don't wear orange shoes either.....

i mean its just so cumbersome to have to use my other hand to pull off the insert before exiting the vehicle... :drama: or even more difficult to think ahead and remove it before placing item into the cupholder...

for the record: one of my cupholder inserts lives in my console vault and holds my change so my nalgene can fit without issue. When items may get stuck in the insert i put them in the one i place my nalgene in. Maybe leave one insert out of the cupholder so you don't have this issue anymore?
but that's just :clock: huh?

This irritates me every single day. Going to try the double sided tape

Double sided tape would work but if you want to remove it to fit a Nalgene or larger bottles then I'd suggest Industrial strength Velcro. It has adhesive on the fuzzy and non-fuzzy side. Attach one side to the base of the fixed cup holder and one to the base of the rubber insert. Or to the sides.

Looks like a large soda drink which has way too much sugar or if it's a diet diet drink it has too many chemicals. Not healthy.

Try a simple 12 ounce beer in a can or bottle, no health issues and won't grab the cup holder.

Runner is ruined. Trade it in and keep the cup holder for target practice until your rage is gone. Seriously just throw it in the center console when you use a bigger drink container. Really not that big of a deal. First world problems.

My solve - Picked up a Yeti tumbler.
Great for hot
Great for cold
Fits perfect with the rubber insert removed

Biggest issue is doesn't hold enough for longer trips...

I guess Toyota should have included instructions with the cup holder insert. Just be thankful there's not a big yellow sticker plastered across the center console that reads, "For proper use of this cup holder, please consult Owner's Manual. Improper use of cup holder insert can result in spilled Starbucks, burns of the groin, and possible dehydration due to inability to recover a drink that has been trapped by the cupholder. Please contact your Toyota dealer for assistance."
:nicethread:

I cannot tell you how many times I've gotten all the way to my desk at work with the cup holder still stuck to my vitamin water bottle...

My yeti fits perfect with the insert in the cup holder behind the shifter, but it sticks in the front one.

Sounds like there could be an opportunity for an enhancement mod for this. Antman what's your expert analysis on this cup holder issue?

Is this the same generation that watches "survival type" TV shows; carries survival knives and guns; carries 900 pounds of recovery and survival gear in their trucks when going to an off-road 4x4 "park"; carries two five gallon cans of extra fuel (when there is a gas station five miles away; needs all those extra high tech gadgets just to survive in this modern world?:bluejump:
