Rubber cup holder - Irritating

That's the rear cup holder, so the fix is simple. Twist the drink clockwise a little as you're picking it up, and the rubber insert should stay put. Unfortunately, that doesn't work with the one in front.

I remember my first vehicle only had one cup holder and that was squeezing whatever you were drinking between the bottom and top of the bench seat. It only worked well with bottles, but I guess that was better than the rubber spacer following you into the office.

Holy hell.....here's what you do. You grab that bottle as far down as you can. Right where it meets cup holder. Hold on to like that time you grabbed that venomous snake just before it struck your kid on your Australian adventure. Next you're going to take your pinky and apply downward pressure on the cup holder. Remember, you drive a 4Runner so you don't have one of those pinkies that you wave around drinking tea. You have a pinky that could plug a hole in a sinking vessel. While pushing down with that sausage finger lift the bottle out. If by chance the cup holder remains attached, use that rear view mirror in front of you to look yourself in the eye with absolute disgust.

Umming. They seem fairly easy to remove and place elsewhere when a bottle doesnt fit properly. But that velcro idea is clever if to much thinking is involved.

I just removed mine.. I put them in the center console where they're used to keep center console items organized/together. Now, cup holders perfectly fit the only thing I drink from - Nalgene bottles and Yeti tumblers.

For a larger bottled drink I toss that mother****er in the center console and roll with it. :shrug:

Big Gulps belong on the dash where if spilled the stickiness pervades. For a time they were disallowed in NYC.
