Rubber spacer on the gas pedal?

So I have a 96 4Runner with 258k on it. Runs great, except there is a lot of slack in the gas pedal. I got under the dash and noticed that there is a rubber spacer/bushing that has basically split in half and fallen off. So I really have to mash the pedal down to get it to accelerate with any real urgency...

Is there some sort of fix or replacement for this piece? I tried to fix it, but there's no keeping it together at this point.

try adjusting the slack out of your throttle cables at the throttle body...

Use some rigid rubber material like a hockey puck and use it as the replacement spacer, chopped to size ofcourse. Just mimic the appearance of the old one, although you will have to drill thru the middle the size of the throttle cable and slice one half so you can insert it...then adjust your throttle cable.

I did the same thing on mine over a year ago.

Bringing up an old one, anyone else done this with any success? Looking to replace the spacer on mine as well...
