:bash: Sigh....I will not say anything bad about blondes. But honestly, when there is a 5,000 lb SUV in the #2 turn lane, and you decide that you want to be in the same turn lane after you figure out that you shouldn't be in the straight away lane, common sence would be to at least look over your shoulder (or for heavens sake use your mirror) before leaping over to said turn lane.

Going to go get quotes tmrw. Yes I called the cops & got a report. Yes I'm going to be nice and let her have a day or so to figure out what she wants to do. Yes if she doesn't, I'm turning her in to her insurance company after I get my quotes, hence why she gets a day or two to call the insurance company on her own. And yes, we've talked and she's a nice lady, but doesn't have the money on her own to pay for this. Her car is white, the black scuff mark is from her mirror. Her platic rim did the scuff along the running board. (Over the top of my previous scratch from my last 4 wheeling expedition!) Hard to tell in pics, but where there is no more paint, it's down to the dark plastic below on the side panels. The one lip on the rear quarter panel is chipped at bit, sort of see in close up pic. I guess this is what happens after you spend over 4 hours waxing by hand and then go out for a quick drive before the final wash.

Poor Ruffian....my baby! But hey...the lady is lucky I didn't have rock sliders on! I would of ripped off her front quarter panel! Me thinks I'll be getting them shortly now for sure! Instead of using the money towards fixing the running board (just paint) I'm going to get my local contact fabrication shop to starting building them.

Thankfully no bent metal :bigok: If the bodyshop is going to replace or spend any money on the running board get them to put that money towards your sliders instead:biggrin2: :biggrin2:

its no big deal, ours has scratches all around on the plastic, as long as no metal damage I don't care really. They should be able to fix that just fine.

Oh yeah I know. Those panels are attached by either the double sided tape or some sort of "stick 'em" stuff. I can see where they will remove those and either sand down and repaint or just apply new ones. Whats cool as like Chris said, this way I'm going to apply the $ for a new running board to those rock sliders. I'm hoping maybe the body shop will want to buy the running boards off of me, maybe. I found a guy via here who will help me with a lift too. (Toytech or Cornfed 3/2) Now since they will be doing a buff job, I can get those manzanita scratched "pin stripes" out too! All in all, me thinks Ruffian planned this all along! I knew she likes being on the trail and all, but still it's an "thinking outside of the box" way of getting modified!!:biggrin2:
So yeah, my next pictures of Ruffian are going to be sweet!

I second that, Ruffian has no sheet metal damage. The good thing is the flares and cladding come painted from the factory, no worries about paint matching.

Cracks me up! So true. When she slammed into me, I thought I had hit a pot hole! The 4Runner just kind of twitched and kept on moving forward. It wasn't seconds later I saw horrified looks on peoples faces, and a few laughing, whilst the lady got out of her car to put her side mirror back into the correct position did it occour to me I just got side swiped!
Anyway, got 3 quotes, all are rounded up.
Body Shop A is the one that I got several reccomendations to go to. They speak 4Runner, drive them, and honestly like the vehicle. The guy was very nice and said that rock sliders will look awesome but he said to shy away from lifts. He said it does muck up somethings, but as long as what ever I did was very minimal, the SUV's do look much better higher! His estimate came to $1,596 +/-.
Body Shop B was a fancy smancy place up the road. i.e. Wine refrigerator full of custom labled water bottles! Reccomended by a local Toyota shop manager who's sent many clients to them. He estimated less time to do the work, but higher cost per hour, came to $1,843 +/-.
Body Shop C I have reservations about. Just in the time that I was there, two customers picking up their cars had issues. One guy was picking up his truck for the 2nd time as last time someone had messed up the paint and demanded they make it right. Which they did. The other customer was picking up her SUV, but came back in before leaving complaining that someone had put a new ding in a quarter panel that was supposedly on the same area that was supposed to be fixed. So like they fixed a spot, but then added a new ding in the same area. Anyway, their quote was $1,700.
I'm leaning toward the first shop since they spoke fluent 4Runner, which was also evident by the 4Runner's I saw parked in the employee parking lot. Oh and by the way, no matter what place I go to, that one runner board will be giving me about $625.04 as cost towards rock sliders. Erm, replacement running board:
Going tomarrow to fabrication shop to talk rock sliders. Will take pics if I can of what I'm going to get, or near to it.
