The guy with the very lifted pickup had a nice touch on the gas pedal. Was it a manual or auto trans?

The silver 4th gen had a lift and some sort of aftermarket skid plate. Any idea what brand of skid plate and how much lift?

Looks as if sliders were a must out there!

If your talking about the one with the solid axle, he probally has a crawler box in it and makes it slow.

I am guessing that they are from Downey Offroad and are nickle plated steel. They have one for the Tacoma that fits the 4Runner that I am considering.
 
The skid on the silver T4R is in fact the "heavy duty cutting board type." Search the Toyota120 forum for details. He fabbed it up himself. :cool:
 
That skid is the HD cutting board plastic. First found on the trailux that 4wheeler did. (Maybe others have done it prior but that was the first time I saw it done).

Anyway you can go that route and do it yourself or get Downey's skidplate which is the same size as the stock skid (two piece) but designed on 1 sheet.

I'm currently working on a v8 skid loosely based off the current one I have. No price point yet but I will be talking to the laser cutter this weekend so I should have a better idea on pricing soon.

I have a v6 (4speed) beta tester already but will be looking for a v6 (5speed) beta tester once I get the v8 model out.

Keep me posted on your skid. Downey's requires either removing the bumper to drill holes or welding tabs in to fasten the front of the skid plate. Downey used a heavier steel thickness than Toyota if I remember correctly.

I've noticed that Toyota has strategically placed vents in their skid for airflow yet Downey had none.
 
I love how those guys have zero regard for their trucks. The stock SR5 4Runner was scraping all over the place, not to mention his running boards!! I'd leave them like that, badass looking. How about when he decided just to run his bumper into the rock ledge, crunch! LOL! Also, I'd like to see what his exhaust looked like after all of that...

I liked the dude in the white prerunner tacoma. Just mash the gas over everything, hey momentum will get you where traction can't!! I especially liked his sliders, nice touch. How about the last scene where he was trying to climb that wall and decided to back down landing his skid plate/front dif on that rock, ouch! I wonder how that felt inside the truck?

Why didn't the guy in the sliver 4Runner with the big tires lock the center dif when trying to climb the rock pile? He got halfway up then all of the weight was transferred to the rear tires allowing the fronts to spin? Wouldn't this have pulled him up?
