Runner wont start hot! HELP PLEASE

Ahh, this is where the communication breakdown occurred. I was talking about persuading the OP to attempt the contacts himself. I was saying to avoid a shop altogether. You're correct about the shop.

C'mon Nevada, I'm well aware that if you would take starter contacts into a shop, they would charge you labor for the install. You're insulting me now. :D

I was just going off your first(now deleted line) about shops.

also the last line (dong kick) I feel the shop did exactly what they should have.

altho, I do agree that the OP could have saved money by doing the work himself, and just swapping the contacts.
but, to many their time is worth more, and some people just don't have the skills or tools to do it.

either way, I think he got a good deal for an OE starter.
just think, if its as good as the original, it will be the last one he ever buys.
it will end up costing him around $.50 per month. I still say it was a good purchase, and smart decision to replace the entire thing.

I get it, I get it. I know the shop did their job. But I guess I wish the OP would've attempted our $12 fix before the $340. And the OP's time, or lack thereof could be that reason. All I'm saying is it sucks he spent so much. And you're right, it wasn't a total loss. He now has a brand new starter, but it would've been nice to see if the contacts were the only issue.
