So im thinking about getting a pair of rims that are 16x8, but im gunna stick with a 31" tire. Do you think theyre gonna rub or am i gonna need a lift?

Why would they rub? Stock height runners can run 32s with little to no rubbing with no lift, 31s will be fine.
That is unless the wheel has a ridiculously low or high backspacing...

It's only 1" wider. If backspacing is the same, or a little less, you'd actually gain some clearance. I run 16x8.5s and don't rub...didn't before the lift either.

Just make sure backspacing is around 4.25" - 4.5". Too much either way, and you'll stick too far out and can rub on turns, or too far in and rub the UCA.
