wedge base #194. No need for a manual to replace these just look under one of the corners of running board and everything becomes clear right there. Push & turn, 10 min job to replace 4 bulbs.

i just replaced mine with LEDs. The bulb number is 194. Here's a link to the thread where I posted pics of the LEDs:

Replacement instructions:
lay on the ground under the corner of the Running board. Look up and see the empty space in the corner. In there is a connector like a standard headlight bulb connector. twist it to the left to loosen it. After loose, pull it out and then pull out the old bulb and put in the new. Then put it back in the hole and twist it tight again.

Help!
Bulb fell out of the socket just as I put it in, and I can't seem to get it out
any suggestions? Is jus t lying there.

Remove the bolts attaching the brackets to the frame. Disconect the harness from the running boards.Bulb fell out of the socket just as I put it in, and I can't seem to get it out
Install rock sliders
Problem solved
You can then place the running boards for sale but no one seems to buy running boards

LOL, I think it was some fruity gum a GF left behind. Was a pisser because I couldn't get anything in there and couldn't get to one screw (IIRC) w/o dropping the entire running board.
The first time it happened, I was able to use my finger and a screw driver.
The second time it happened, a stick w/ gum.
The third time, the gum fell off the stick, and then got wedged in the corner. Solution? More gum.
LED's are not too durable to be honest, you'll have 1:10 that have very short lifespan's, so buy extras. However, LEDs most certainly flesh out the look of HID's and other lights on your 4Runner!
Worth the hassle!

I got the 194 LED from VLEDS.com. Just check out there website. I have ordered a couple times from them and they shipped fast and the lights worked great. I think they even have a sale on the 194's right now too.

Strange thing, I got a call from a distributor today. Aperantly someone had emailed him this post and told him I was in the market for bulbs.

Sorry for resurrecting and old thread but I had to help out. My LED bulb fell in the running board light housing today and I was lost! I tried the gum method and my gun got stuck, go figure! So I just wanted to post how I got my bulb out.
I took this picture from underneath the car in front of the back left tire look up. Just unscrew the two screws I circled in red and the housing will slide right off.

My first post and I just had to say thanks for this. My led bulb fell out into the housing and I Had no idea how to get it out. This took all of 3 minutes to do. Good looking out!

I switched my running board lights to LEDs. One them fell into the light housing, so I'm planning to use this technique to retrieve it tomorrow. Thanks for the useful info!
Update: This worked nicely once I used a proper ratchet handle instead of a screwdriver-style handle to loosen those 8mm bolts.
