Running Board/Rock Slider for TRD Pro

My fiancée and I both have 2018 TRD Pro's. At 6'8", I have no use for any type of step to get into my vehicle. Actually, I just took off the horrible chrome strip OEM running boards. My fiancée could use some type of step for entry and my older parents could definitely use something.

We prefer rock sliders for protection, but are they a useful step? Or should we consider nerf bars?

For my 4R, I would only go with rock sliders if they didn't get in my way when entering/exiting the vehicle. For my fiancée's 4R, she would only go with rock sliders if they offered a useful step for vehicle entry/exit.

Do we really need the protection of rock sliders at this point, absolutely not, but I can't say what the future holds.

Any suggestions? Thinking maybe C4 Fab for one of the vehicles but we are not sure how the step performs or impacts vehicle access.

Sliders on one, n-fabs on the other. My n-fabs are 14 inches above ground and very helpful.

Sliders can be made flat, which will provide a great step and plenty of protection.

Bunch of companies make them now.

Probably not. They came only on the Limited, which has different rocker panels.

...isn't the rocker panel on the Limited just a cosmetic panel along the bottom of the doors and has nothing to do with the installation and operation of the factory power running boards? I guess it might not look as clean without that Limited rocker panel, but shouldn't the running boards still function properly? Or am I completely missing something?

it is cosmetic. you can swap the limited trim out for the non limited trim - which I did with no issues. the running boards should still function properly. if your vehicle is wired to accept the power running boards then they SHOULD work just fine. but - is there a wiring harness able to accept them? You'd need a dash switch - but I do believe behind the dash the plug should exist for the switch , it will be unused in models without the running boards. but underneath the vehicle, is the wiring already there allowing for a plug and play?
