Running boards, keep or remove?

As I view this forum I see many owners who don't have them and love them without it. Just wanted to get an idea of why some of them don't want them added on. Some say it looks better with it on, others say the 4Runner shouldn't have them on because of clearance and it looks more rugged.

I tend to agree. Do you drive your family around in it? Any complaints about getting in?

Take them off, see how you like it...........if not re install, if yes and you can live with the increased access height, leave off. We are not talking about taking a hole saw to your fender for a snorkel.
Edit: Forgot to add my 2cents - Take them off or if you must keep RB get the rigid style that come on the trails ( I think ) not a fan of the ones you have installed

Gotcha, If I had to guess I would say $150-$200 and I would post them here and on Craigslist.

I like mine for running faster speeds down gravel fire roads. They keep the side of the 4runner from getting major stone chip damage. Also when I wash the 4runner it is a pain washing/drying the roof with them off. For heavier off road use I remove them. Only takes several minutes and 12 bolts. My wife can barely get in with them off so leaving them off full time is not an option for me.
The ones that 2015 (SR5P) comes with is the all black running board. You can get as much as $300 for them. Some people still want them, especially they have family and kids that need to get into the car easier.
If you want rugged look, go get a rock slider. You already got the TRD wheels, you should go get a real slider.
Here is mine, from stock to slider.

Running boards gone
IMO all they do is bang your ankles and soil the back of your pants. I took mine off the same day I got it home. Purchased all four OEM mud flaps at purchase time. On the 2003 Ltd they came with them. Give it protection from thrown up debris. Did the same with my 2003 Ltd (RIP). If you do remove them careful of the lower outside edge, sharp as a razor, don't ask how I know. Hope to sell them to recoup some of the cost of sliders.
