Rust on sliders. Bedliner?

It seems the previous owner coated the underside in some product and the rust underneath is starting to show. If anyone might know what product was used that would be good to know.

How best to deal with this?

The sliders are much worse from what I can tell without stripping off more. Hopefully the welds and rest of the frame are not too bad...

What is the proper approach to deal with this? Would you cut the sliders off to re-treat them, or do it all on the truck? Try and remove the current liner, wire wheel to bare metal, primer, paint? Then what about general maintenance for the underside?

I may be able to get weekend access to a body shop, hoping to keep this vehicle for some time still so I don't want to just run it into the ground!

Cheers.

Oof. The support tube can be wire wheeled clean and a rust converter painted on. The actual slider looks toasted. Is the rust all the way through the tube? If so it's toast. That is the issue with bed liners. Anything gets behind it it rusts out quickly and un-noticed.

Yeah, I should have been paying more attention. There was not much if any visible rust anywhere when I bought it. I've owned it for about 4 years now. I guess I should just chop em off then :rip:

More concerned about the frame. I need to strip off the coating and get a better sense of what is happening underneath.
