Heard a loud noise from the rear the other day and then noticed a loose feeling in the rear while driving.

Crawled under and here is what I saw :(

How bad is this? Is this totally unsafe to drive?
It was - 25c when this happened, I'm guessing g the rust combined with the extreme cold caused it to

Yeah man, don't drive this on public roads until it's fixed. Take it to a competent mechanic who can weld or a welder who is willing to do the work. They will very likely say you need to replace the rear axle housing. This is common rust damage, and since your LCA is hanging by a thread, you can't safely stop your truck. Once its all repaired, get an oil undercoating every year. It's worth every penny.

It's likely that the repair costs here will be greater than the value of your truck. Best of luck.
