rusted funder continue ( fixed )

So it started like this. Found rust under the carpet on the rear driver side by the wheel while running wires for the led bar.



And so today we started fixing it. Let the pictures do the talking.











Couldn't of done this without my friends. One is a very good mechanic, who has a garage with lift and all tools you need. Who does all the work on my 4runner. And My other buddy who restores cars and does body work for living. Think it came out very good. Decided not to attach the rear seat belt. Think I'll attach it to where the rear sits mount to. But for now it doesn't bother me.

Yup, much harder to properly repair compared to a rusty bumber. Nice repair OP.

What is the gray stuff, and what are you going to do about the seat belt mount?

The gray stuff is epoxy. My buddy works at a restoration shop and brought some epoxy over to seal/weld over the new metal. Don't really need the seat belt in back. I don't have kids, and no one ever rides in the back. But I think I'll just mount the seat belt mount to where the seat mounts. To the floor rather then the fender.

I'm.very happy for fixing it. Ofcourse the proper way would bee to completey change the whole fender pannel. But I think we did a good enough job. I got all the rust I can see out. Now I have to to tackle few bubbles of rust under the carpet here and there before they spread any where.
