so my 2010 LE rear lift gate had lots of small things rattling inside. plus every time i go for a car wash or heavy rain, the rear lift gate would collect water, and then later drain from the holes and handle area when the door is opened or closed. so i open the panels and found that the rear window lift mechanism/sub-assembly was 100% rusted. the window motor was some how hanging on the wires. so i ordered a full replacement and replaced it today. Unfortunately it did not work 100%. the rust really got on all the screws of assembly.
the factory back glass comes with attached plastic adapters with embedded metal nut inside, that helps the glass sit on the sub-assembly. and two bolts then secure the glass (via the adapters) to the sub-assembly. these two bolts were mostly rusted and the metal nut inside the plastic adapter were 100% rusted - seized completely. all four plastic adapters attached to the rear glass BROKE.
do you know if I have to replace the full glass or can i find these plastic clips/adapters anywhere (to replace the broken ones)?
