So a while back I found rusting on my 2007 4R Sport. Called Toyota. They recommended me going to the Toyota Dealer for a check up. Service guy reports back to me saying since it is not perforation, there is nothing they can do. Rusting was going on from outside in and not vice versa, so I wasn't given solution to prevent further corrosion of the car.
I called Toyota again, explained to them that dealer didn't offer me any solutions and I was dissatisfied with the Toyota product. Today their Toyota rep calls me, and tells me they can't do anything since the rust is probably happening due to salt used on New York roads and warranty doesn't cover rust because of external elements - salt, gravel. I told the rep that my 4 year old Honda CRV had no rust issues and it drives on the same roads as 4Runner, to that he had no comments. In the end I was left dissapointed with no solutions from Toyota. I will be looking forward to trading mine for something else, considering gas prices... oh and I will make sure to look under to make sure it's not rusting.
Dissapointed with Toyota
