Well I might as well start one of these. I joined here a couple of years ago and fell off the earth last year sometime. My 98 4runner called it quits after 2 years of abuse. The rear end or driveshaft failed. Its been parked in the yard since last april. But today Is the start of its resurection. Decided to find a donor truck to convert mine to 4wd but found this on craigslist about 2.5 hours away and went and picked it up today. Donor truck has ome struts and springs, ball joint spacers and a 1.5" body lift

Just got home with it

Got alot of funny looks on the interstate towing this. People kept slowing down to look at it. More to come as i start deconstruction of this truck and pick up my other one from the other house

Took the roll over off road one last time before deconstruction. 4wd still works great in it and it was able to climb stuff my 2wd 4runner wouldnt be able to. looking forward to getting this part of the project over with.

Well since i was off today I got the rolled over 4runner mostly stripped last night and today. The body is ready to come off and all of the wiring is removed from it. Now to figure out how to lift the body off...

Also had an audience today.

Are you willing to sell the fender flare on the driver side quarter panel and the one that goes on the bumper?

Unfortunately Im going to be using the flares off the new truck on my old one. i would sell the flares off my old truck but i dont know how well they will come off because i super glued them on. i will have to wait until I start pulling it apart to see if they are ok

Once you are finished, are you going to make a list of things that are still available? I would be interested in a few things, assuming they survived. I can PM you if you prefer.

I seriously doubt anything will be left worth using. Every body panel and interior panel was destroyed when it got wrecked. Only stuff off the body I'm keeping are the flares. You can Pm what you need and I'll see what I can do.

Got the body off today. Had to make it into more manageable size pieces due to not having a lift or anything. Have to find a lift in order to swap the body off mine, but I have some things to fix on the new frame first.

heres one for you. rear upper control arm had this bolt shoved into it with no nut. scary part is I drove this truck around before pulling it apart. So that was nice to see. The front right strut is assemble wrong and the front left top hat isnt tight. None of the body mounts were tight either. I dont know how that stuff got left like that...

My 4runner awaiting its 4wd frame!

Small interior mod. Since the holes are already in the body for an upper handle on the drivers side, I used the passenger side handle from the parts truck and added one to mine.

More to come this weekend I hope.

Oh oh oh!!! Please at least tell me how tall the body lift is and the length of bolts went where. I'm going to buy bolts tomorrow

Did a bunch of work last night. Replaced/fixed the sway bar end link bushings. They were assembled wrong or missing bushings, Tore the top of the motor down and did the valve cover gaskets and started on the timing belt. Discovered part of the suspension on the right side is bent so i need to fix that. But getting there. This ob really sucks doing at night in the driveway with a flashlight but thats all i can do

Missing strut nut

Not too bad for 252000 miles

This may need replacing

Valve cover gaskets done. Working on timing belt. But i ran out of money for parts and need a new tensioner. More to come

Struts not assembled correctly, nuts missing from the strut, loose rear control arms, loose bushings.........wonder what caused the roll over. Haha. Nice work on the progress. I just hope youre showing that E30 some love too tho.
