Sweet looking ride so far. Need to start saving some cash so I can do a few upgrades to my 99. ISR and Deck plate are done. I'm thinking lift next maybe, enough to fit 33's and think I'll stick with the stock 4:10 gears for a bit and see how they hold up

4:10's and 33's shouldn't be an issues. I suggest lbj's off a tacoma, outer tie rods off a tacoma and inner tie rods off a '99 4runner. You will see a world of difference in the steering.

So I read on here that you are towing and the 9 wraps, yeah, they will sag a bit under that load. I dont remember you telling me about towing when i talked with ya. I must have missed that.

You might go to the OME 861s Gerdo has had a ton of success with heavy loads and the 861's if you want to go even taller do the 851s like Glen Yoshida and Sn0wrunner.

Love the AOR rear bumper! Scotty and Big John are the best! You gonna add a matching front bumper to the mix? Rigs looking good!

Gonna wait on the steering for a bit. I just bought the truck in mid Jan and found some service records. Tie rods, balls joints, alignment and front brakes were just done a Les Schwab in Sept. Looks like new drive belts also. Popped the timing cover and saw some cracks in the timing belt so that is the next NEED fix I'm going to do. Also gonna do ALL filters, fluids and grease.

I know a certified Toy tech and he said he'd do all that for about $450. Might have him do the valve cover gaskets too as I noticed they were leaking and check engine light just came on this past Thursday but it turns off and on, so gonna have him check that too.

No worries. The LC coils are pretty bad with the back loaded and a boat behind on some of these mountain roads. I'm thinking of the 861's because I'm finally sitting level wit the AOR rear bumper and my 5100's set on the second perch. I don't mind a little rake but if I go anything taller than the 861's I'll have a lot of rake and not a lot of options to get the front higher.

I really like the rear bumper from AOR but I'm going to have the guys at Hard Notched Customs(local fab shop) do my front bumper. I'm going to have them incorporate my factory fogs into the bumper along with LED turn signals and a winch. I'm throwing around the idea of 2x6 boxed sliders that will attach to the front and rear bumpers with armor that follows the wheel well arches contour.

What year Taco do you get the LBJ's, outer tie rods from?

I got my parts using a 2004 Tacoma 4x4 3.4L on Rock Auto.com. I spent several months collecting the parts and another month of them sitting in my garage before I got to the install. It's amazing how much of a difference there is as far as the size of the parts. Definitely heavier duty than the 4Runner parts I replaced.

No modification, everything bolts up.

Thanks Dous, I'm not running a BL but I need to install the 2" BL. It's drive-able but I can't flex out or stuff a wheel in a fender without damaging the body. I trimmed my front lower valance and I still get some rubbing on tight turns. I really should have installed my BL today since it was so nice out, it's not doing any good sitting on my bedroom floor

Not yet, I've flexed out my rear when I had 265's and I still had some play in the rear brake line. However I know it needs to be done. I'll probably get the extended brake line and upgrade to 231mm rotors so I don't have to bleed my brakes twice.

Installed my 2" 4Crawler body lift. Everything went smooth as possible and I did it solo in three hours. I need to get my Addicted Off-road rear bumper modified to accommodate the BL and install my front bumper relocation brackets. My next mod will be Light Racing UCA's so I don't ruin the tread on my new tires then 5.29 Yukon gears front and rear and a custom bumper for the front.

It rained so I pulled as much of my 4runner into the garage as I could.

lol, you're suppose to put the wood block on top of the jack, not under it!! You put it on there long ways and lift the body up.

Good looking truck, now get that front bumper fixed!

lol. when I first did my 1" BL, I used a chopped tree trunk to raise my then crappy 1.5T floor jack and it did the trick..Pretty sure that's what MacGyver was tryin' to achieve by piling those 2x's there......uhm that looks sketchy man!
